Sheet 08
What this site records, written from what the pages actually do
This page was written by reading the eight pages of this site and the one script they share, and it describes what they do. It is not a recital of articles and it is not borrowed from another company's site.
What the pages hold
- Cookies
- None are set. Not for preferences, not for sessions, not for counting visits.
- Analytics
- None. There is no tag, no pixel and no script from anybody else's server on any page.
- Forms
- The two sheets are the only controls on the site, and neither has anywhere to submit to.
- Local storage
- Nothing is written to the browser's storage, and nothing is read from it.
- The one outside request
- Each page asks Google Fonts for a single stylesheet, which brings down the two faces this site is set in: Newsreader for the headings and IBM Plex Sans for everything else. That request carries your address and the usual headers to that host, as any request to a third party does.
- Everything else
- Served from this domain. The drawings are inline SVG, the three photographs are files held here, and the two icons are files held here.
What the two sheets do with a figure
The exposure note and the weather-window sheet both run entirely inside the page. A figure typed into either of them is multiplied and divided in the browser, printed back a few lines further down, and forgotten when the page is closed. Nothing is transmitted, nothing is stored and nothing about a reading is recoverable by this company.
Both sheets also work with the script blocked. The worked example on each one is written into the page itself, so a reader who arrives with scripting disabled sees a complete sheet with real arithmetic in it rather than three empty boxes. The script replaces those figures as new ones are typed, and the arithmetic it runs is the same arithmetic the written example was produced from.
Both sheets are planning aids. They do arithmetic on the numbers a reader supplies, and they have no knowledge of any particular site, forecast or tide.
Correspondence, and what happens to it
The address enquiries@aquavail.work appears on every page of this site and is the only address it carries. Mail sent to it is read at the registered office and kept with the file it relates to; mail that relates to no file is kept while it is being answered.
Correspondence about a survey, a condition report or a specification is treated as part of the record of that job, because a question answered by email is usually a question the report should have answered and the next report is written accordingly.
AQUAVAIL LTD is registered in England & Wales under company number 17407537, with D-U-N-S number 235087134, at 24 Darwin Avenue, Christchurch, BH23 2JB, United Kingdom.
